Inktober 2020

It’s that time of year again. I fell in love with Inktober last year. I didn’t complete all the challenges as I learned about it mid-October; but I was determined Inktober 2020 was going to be different. Then 2020 happened. And you all know how that’s going. I’m literally checking my news feed every five minutes as I work on this post. The election is happening right now. RIGHT NOW. And I can’t do much more than watch those results come in.

Back to Inktober. I promised myself I wouldn’t post until I got to 15 drawings, but it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve drawn my last and I also made a promise to keep myself accountable and post my work, regardless. So, here goes.

Wisp: Found this character on Pinterest. rpowell77.deviantart.com I like it because it’s a little creepy yet sweet.

Bulky. Started experimenting with India Ink.

Blade: Tonya Harding. Don’t know much about her, but I saw the movie based on her life and feel she got a bad rap.

Throw: Super tired that day. Just wanted Charlie and the gang for Halloween fun. Thank you Charles Schultz.

Rodent. I found out we were going to stay in distance learning until January. This has no changed. We are reopening school next week! I learned a good lesson on this one. Not all papers in a pile of School Specialty papers are the same. This one did not do well with India Ink and I had to cover the areas with chalk. Will test all of my papers from now on.

Used a photo reference from Google (scary Halloween makeup) but mainly used my imagination.

Fancy: My dream is to travel around the US in a van when we leave Saudi Arabia. This would be an amazing campsite.

Hope: My husband suggested doing a person waiting for a kiss, but I saw this when I did a search for romantic drawins and loved it. Total copy, found on auxx.me. Initials on the drawing are GGNS.

Dune: I live in the middle of sand dunes. Plus the movie is coming out. Saw this on the web. I practiced ink drawing with a ballpoint pen.

Drew this shortly after the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Learned a lot about her during this drawing. Must start working on hand lettering!

This posting is motivating me to continue. Hoping to do some more in the near future. Would love to learn about your Inktober experience if you participated!
