And, we are off. Come with me as I break down Kindergarten art into manageable parts for fellow teachers and parents.

Even though the pandemic made the importance of art, music, and exercise for mental health abundantly clear – art, music, and P.E. are now to be taught asynchronously at my school. Which is fine, really, because my lifelong dream has been to be a YouTube sensation. Cue hair flip. Just kidding.

I have now a bunch of videos under my belt and want to share them all with you. You may find them useful, either in your homeschool journey, or for inspiration. Feel free to steal, use, comment, whatever. We are all in this together and I am so very thankful that the art community has been so generous sharing the knowledge.

Before you watch my videos, please check out Cassie Stephens’ video on teaching lines to Kindergarten. In fact, you may just want to watch her for everything. She is the rockstar of the art teacher world, and when I grow up I want to be just like her… kind of, I don’t have nearly enough space in my home for all her clothes and accessories.

Cassie, I love you!

I made two videos using Cassie as my guide, and then made a plan. I suggest you sit down and make a plan before you start making videos, simply because it really helps you figure out the timing, and it shows how much you really do know.

And away we go. Here is my read aloud video for Lines that Wiggle, with a review of the first four lines: straight, curved, zig zag and wavy. The next video is the lesson:

Once children are done, please visit my distance learning menus for more suggestions. Please feel free to comment on anything. These have not been viewed by parents yet so any help is appreciated.

Thank you so much. Cheers!
