This was done a long time ago, but for numerous reasons, I never posted it until now.  It’s a keeper though.  It is super easy to do with all grade levels and it brings a real sense of community to your school during those first few weeks when we are all getting back into the swing of things.

I had kids help me decorate the letters with metallic colored pencils.  I don’t have that pictured.  Here are some close-ups of what how the flowers are made.

For the first few weeks of school we concentrate a lot of time on reviewing and learning lines. We then look at zentangles and patterns.  Students then get an opportunity to design their hand how they wish.  For this project, we had students from grades kindergarten to eight contribute. IMG_6260IMG_6270
